This past Saturday, the 13th of November 2021, at Heroes Acre at Westpark cemetery, George Bizos’ tombstone was unveiled. We had the honour of his Beatitude Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and all Africa, Theodoros B, officiate the proceedings.
After the service and prayers, Patriarch Theodoros B, said a few words about George Bizos: “I have arrived from Alexandria in Egypt and my blessed journey begins with this memorial service, today, for a man who glorified Hellas (Greece), glorified Hellenism and glorified humanity, the creation of God. I am certain that George Bizos rests in peace, because his struggles alongside Nelson Mandela to build a more humane, free, just and peaceful Africa have been justified.” (translated from Greek, source Romfea.GR)
